Are You Hosting A Breakfast For A Bride-To-Be?

Posted on: 5 November 2019

Is one of your dearest friends getting married soon? Maybe you are her maid-of-honour, or perhaps you are a very close friend. No matter your relationship, if you have decided to host a breakfast in honour of the soon-to-be bride, you are probably having mixed emotions about your upcoming event. On one hand, you are probably excited for the bride and you feel honoured to host such an important event. On the other hand, maybe you are nervous that you won't plan the breakfast in a way that will be well received.

Whether you're calm about the breakfast or whether you're still looking for ideas that will make the event a truly special one. From arranging for breakfast catering to planning fun entertainment, here are some ideas that might help you.

Arrange For Breakfast Catering - Will you be hosting the wedding breakfast at your own home? Maybe you are very comfortable with cooking special foods for the event. If so, go for it. On the other hand, maybe you would enjoy the event more if you left the cooking and serving to professional caterers. If you have a menu in mind already, the caterers will be happy to provide exactly what you request. Perhaps you don't have a clue as to which foods would make the breakfast a unique one.

Not to worry. The caterers will have the training and the experience to make recommendations that will be well received by those who attend the breakfast. For example, the caterers might suggest something like a spinach quiche, cheese-filled broiled tomatoes, and a fruit compote for your breakfast. Or, if you want something more casual, the caterers might suggest that you have a breakfast burrito bar. Either way, add a touch of elegance by having large, chocolate-covered strawberries for dessert. Look for a breakfast catering service that provides the types of food the bride and groom like.

Plan Fun Wedding Entertainment - Do you think you could get the bridesmaids and the groomsmen to perform at the wedding breakfast? If so, they might sing a song that is special to the bride and groom. Remind them that they don't need to be professionals to sing some fun music for their friends who are about to tie the knot.

If you want to keep things more simple, ask the bride and groom to each tell the story of how they met and fell in love. You might be surprised to hear two very different renditions of that account. And, of course, part of the breakfast should be a toast to a happy marriage ahead.
